To protect the satoyama and satoumi environments which are losing their former abundance, it is essential that more people understand the current situation and engage in conservation as a personal responsibility.

We sincerely hope that by participating in our tours and experiential programs, participants will deepen their involvement with these regions as if they were their second home, by experiencing with all their senses the stories of life connected by water—stories like “protecting the sea from the satoyama” and “living in harmony with the sea's source streams.” We also hope that they will become part of our community in co-creating our shared future.
